MOSCOW, Russia, 27 March 2018 — Ford Sollers announces prices for the upgraded Ford Explorer for the Russian market. The maximum recommended retail price for the 7-seat off-road vehicle with the upgraded exterior and improved consumer properties has been decreased and is now starting with 2,699,000 roubles* (2,599,000 roubles as a trade-in/scrappage bonus).
For this price the buyer obtains a legendary all-wheel-drive car with a tested high-power 3.5 l (249 hp) atmospheric V6 engine, 6-speed AT, all-wheel drive system, rich set of equipment and comprehensive preparation for the Russian conditions. Ford Explorer, manufactured in Russia, provides improved noise insulation and anti-corrosion protection with a 12-year warranty against perforation corrosion, as well as an extended package of winter options (heating for the windscreen, steering wheel, mirrors, window washer jets and back seats; remote engine starting), Russian-language navigation system, front/rear view cameras with washers. Russian-manufactured Ford Explorer engines are adapted for applying RON 92 petrol.
Roomy interior, having enough space for baggage even with 7 passengers, fitted with a convenient electric drive for folding back seats and with various equipment ensuring comfort during trips to any distances. The price for the Limited version starts at 2,942,000 roubles (2,842,000 roubles as a trade-in/scrappage bonus). Fitting of the off-road vehicle in such Series is supplemented by 20-inch light-alloy wheel rims, adjustment memory and perforated trim of front seats with ventilation function, electric heating of the steering wheel and of the 2nd row seats, electric drive for folding the 3rd row seats and a wide-angle front camera with a washer. Premium audio system Sony with 12 speakers, including a subwoofer, provides excellent sound quality, and the built-in navigation system in Russian helps to plot an optimal route. The trunk cover in this version is supplied with an electric drive and opens hands free. The engine can be started remotely with a key fob.
The Limited Plus flagship version with the price from 3,142,000 roubles (3,042,000 roubles as a trade-in/scrappage bonus), apart from the listed set of equipment, has a panoramic roof with a hatch and intelligent help systems for the driver — Adaptive Cruise Control, Active Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist, lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist system, Blind Spot Information System. The front multi-contour seats in Ford Explorer Limited Plus are supplied with the massage function. Activation of the wind-screen wipers and switching from the low beam to high beam is made automatically owing to the sensors.
The demand for the Ford Explorer is growing in Russia. According to the sales growth dynamics, in 2017, the Explorer became the leader among the Ford models officially sold in the Russian Federation: the off-road vehicles sale growth was 62% more, as compared to 2016. Such tendency has remained in the current year — the sales growth of February amounted to 138%, in comparison with the February of 2017.
